This body of work from the exhibition, Not Yet But Soon, explores idiosyncratic family history. These found trophy toppers and plaques come from my Dad’s early tennis career. Later in life, he disassembled the trophies, throwing away the stand but keeping the plaques and toppers. I’ve recreated the trophies as decorative object and homage to my lineage. I’m interested in demasculinize-ing the trophy by using more feminine colors and floral motifs. Some of the trophy toppers have been cast in bronze to create a similar treating to how I work with clay.
